Getting started - Garden in a container
No need for a green thumb or any extraordinary artistic
ability! You can go to inspiration gallery for some ideas.
Start with a container to
plant in or a spot in your landscape that you would like to add the
wonderful world of fairy gardens and
miniature landscapes. We offer fairy
garden and miniature landscape
kits as well as all the amenities that will allow you to create
beautiful scenery in your home, yard, office and other places.
Containers - This can be as
simple as a low pot, or basket with a liner,
or more imaginative containers can be a wheelbarrow, drawer, crate,
stone trough, or a birdbath. The important thing is that the
container you choose has drainage.
Soil - It is best to use a
peat based potting soil (rather than garden soil or dirt from the
yard) such as our Weetrees
Mix that incorporates amendments that
provide nutrients, water retaining granules, and adequate drainage.
WeePlants - The plants that
we carry are available in pots. The WeeTrees
plants are chosen for their small proportioned leaves and limited
height. The WeeCover
plants and WeeShrubs
plants offer a variety of textures and colors, our WeeVines
are vigorous enough to wind their way up various arbors and supports
but controllable to stay in bounds. Add to these some WeeGrass
plants, and some WeeHostas.
WeePeeps - To
ensure that your fairy garden isn't a lonely place, you may want to
add some fairies,
gnomes,
or other
inhabitants.
Surface Features - Add
stone and pebbles
to represent a pathway or water in a stream or pond. Signs
and topiaries
can also be added to spice up your fairy garden.
Garden Accents - Fencing
to contain your garden, gazebos
and arbors for height and for a place for
vines to grow are the next step in furnishing your garden. Speaking
of furnishing, we offer a large selection of garden
furniture at affordable prices.
The Garden Shed - Pots,
tools,
birdbaths
help to create a realistic garden feel.
